Visit the IT Zone for:
- Strategies and tactics for combating your current IT challenges and preparing for the future
- Best practices from airlines and MRO organizations
- A neutral environment to discuss customer needs and availabilities
- Information to simplify MRO technologies and systems
PLUS! Find the right IT systems to fit your existing procedures, systems, and equipment! Experience product demonstrations first-hand and take advantage of one-to-one face time to get all your questions answered.
The IT Zone is included with your MRO Americas pass and will provide a forum for sharing experiences and energizing the industry.
IT Zone Agenda and Schedule
DAY ONE – Tuesday, April 25, 2017
1:30 – 2:45 p.m.
Tech Trends (Presentation)
Hear about what’s hot, what’s not and what’s next!
Real-Time Maintenance Status Visibility with Beacon Technology (Demo)
AAR and Oracle will demo a mobile app that uses “location-based services” and Beacons (mini computers that transmit low energy bluetooth signals) to retrieve the relevant information about the aircraft maintenance activity based on the person’s location in the facility/hangar.
Wireless Applications for Fault Analysis and Root Cause Identification (Demo)
Honeywell's MyMaintainer application and web-based system helps streamline maintainers' need to perform fault analysis and identify root cause by connecting wirelessly to the aircraft and enabling fault analysis in a simple yet effective way.
- Bharathan Aravamudhan, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Honeywell Aerospace
Collecting Critical Surface Data with Drones (Demo)
Luftronix will show the results of a pre-recorded inspection flight using a lightweight drone with optical sensors to collect data from the surface of an aircraft. The data will be stitched into a contiguous image and presented in the inspector dashboard.
DAY TWO - Wednesday, April 26, 2017
1:00 – 2:15 p.m.
Avoiding the “Dangers” of IT
Managing IT Risk, Avoiding the IT Hype Cycle, Cybersecurity, Future-Proofing IT Systems and more.
- Moderator: Helen Kang, Event Content Director, Aviation Week Network
- Rahul Ghai, MD Flight Operations & Inflight Services Technology, United Airlines
- Kevin Larson, CIO, AAR Corp.

Computer Aided Inspection and Product Modernization from 3D Scanning (3DS) (Demo)
21st century 3D scanning provides millions of surface data-points for Computer Aided Inspection (CAI) to Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Blueprint or Product Modernization (FKA Reverse Engineering (RE)) for CAD model development from known conforming parts. See firsthand how these modern metrology technologies accelerate precision manufactured parts throughput.
Innovative Wireless Tester to Reduce Recurrent Electrical Faults (demo)
THS will demonstrate a new generation of wireless ‘’intelligent multi-meters’’ that can cost efficiently reduce the impact of electrical faults on fleet readiness. UN-ATE is an Advanced Mobile Universal Electrical Tooling used on any aircraft type in varying working environments.
