Brian Karpiel is the Chief Financial Officer for Aviall, a subsidiary of Boeing Global Services. As CFO, he is a key leader in Aviall’s core business and strategic growth initiatives; and his scope of responsibilities includes financial reporting and controls, SOX compliance, audit, tax, and pension-related matters. Brian has more than 23 years of investment banking and operations experience in the aviation, aerospace and defense and industrial products market segments.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Karpiel spent 18 years as an investment banker serving the aerospace, defense and chemicals market segments in an advisory capacity. Most recently, Brian was the Managing Director developing and leading the Aerospace and Defense Investment Banking practice at Seabury Group, a middle-market-focused advisory firm serving the Aviation and Aerospace market segments. Prior to leading Seabury’s middle-market investment banking efforts, he worked at middle-market investment banking firms Janes Capital Partners, Edgeview Partners and Lehman Brothers. Brian effectively has led and participated in more than 100 advisory assignments including consulting and investment banking transactions valued at more than $7 billion, and financing transactions valued at greater than $25 Billion.
Prior to transitioning into investment banking, Mr. Karpiel served as an engineer and operations leader at General Electric, with global experience working in 26 countries and expertise in lean manufacturing, labor and operational productivity and managing operations for growth.
Brian received his master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
