Laurent Martinez was appointed Head of the new “Services by Airbus” business unit on 1st May 2015. In his role, he is tasked to further develop innovative services, under the leadership of Philippe Mhun, Airbus Head of Customer Services.
Laurent started his career in Panama in 1994 at the French Bank BNP-Paribas. He then worked in Satellite Telecommunication Business in Matra Marconi Space.
In 1999, Laurent joined Astrium (now Airbus Defence and Space), where he held various functions in finance controlling. At the creation of EADS in 2001, he moved to Munich, before becoming Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Astrium Space Transformation in 2004. In 2009, Laurent moved to Airbus and became Head of Airbus Group Finance and Performance Management. In 2012, he was appointed Head of Airbus Group & Airbus Controlling and Accounting, reporting directly to Airbus Group’s CFO Harald Wilhelm.
Laurent holds Master’s degrees in Superior & Special Mathematics, an Engineer Degree and a Master degree in Finance and Accounting. He also graduated in History of Art and studied at Toulouse School of Art (“Beaux-Arts”).
