Increasing MRO Efficiency with AI and NLP presented by SparkCognition

Wednesday April 10, 2019, 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Location: Rm 314
Session #: 417

Complimentary session! This session is open to all attendees of MRO Americas.

AI-powered predictive and prescriptive maintenance solutions are revolutionizing aerospace maintenance operations—leaving behind the preventative maintenance paradigm and instead enabling “as needed” maintenance.

Cognitive solutions analyze sensor data to flag anomalous operating states and identify impending failures long before they occur. Natural language processing (NLP) takes aerospace manufacturers and operators from predictive maintenance into the realm of prescriptive maintenance, recommending the most effective maintenance procedures to fix the issues based on historical data. Together, these solutions reduce the time an aircraft has to spend on the ground and enable operators to increase availability while reducing maintenance costs.

Session #: 420

Complimentary session! This session is open to all attendees of MRO Americas.

Innovations follow a common lifecycle pattern – from visionary hype to difficult disillusionment to value-added productivity. Likewise, organizations follow adoption patterns of early visionaries, pragmatists, conservative followers and laggard skeptics. Capgemini presents its 2019 industry survey results on the adoption of MRO innovations such as interactive voice computing, service parts optimization, predictive maintenance, connected aircraft operations and the autonomic airline.  Which innovations have stalled and which are accelerating? Industry leaders give their perspectives on what is delivering operational and financial value; what new business models these innovations are enabling; and what is in store for the future.

Analytics in Optimizing Aviation MRO and Aftermarket Business Performance

Hosted By: Component Control MRO & Logistics Software Solutions
Tuesday April 9, 2019, 1:30 – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Rm 214
Session #: 305B

Complimentary briefing! This briefing is open to all attendees of MRO Americas.

Airlines and MRO’s generate vast amounts of data when managing their businesses. Data analytics build top-level analysis of financial, sales, inventory, labor, and turn-around performance.  Best practices can then be achieved through benchmarking and monitoring real-time conditions to optimize MRO and other aftermarket operations. This session will demonstrate how well-designed analytics enable optimization, efficiencies, and high-quality operations.

Customer Needs vs. Technological Advancement: Who’s Driving?

Hosted By: Eastman Aviation Solutions & Delta TechOps
Tuesday April 9, 2019, 2:30 – 3:00 p.m
Location: Rm 214
Session #: 306B

Complimentary briefing! This briefing is open to all attendees of MRO Americas.

The airline industry can be described as ultraconservative in relation to safety, reliability, and consistency. However, the industry has seen tremendous advances in equipment technology since the dawn of powered flight a little over 100 years ago. This session will look into the future, examining potential stimuli for advancing turbine oil and hydraulic fluid products and services. How can we reconcile these drivers with the specific needs of equipment designs and the airlines as customers?

Reduce Flight Cancellations and Increase Aircraft Utilization: How to optimize maintenance using constraints based management

Even with resource constraints, supply chain constraints, and maintenance uncertainties, it is possible to reduce turnaround times and create maintenance buffers. These buffers help you extend the operating cycle of the aircraft beyond the scheduled cycle time. This presentation showcases case studies and best practices from a few of the more than 75 MROs who have implemented these buffers to increase aircraft availability..

Blockchain Goes Global

Hosted By: FedEx
Wednesday April 10, 2019, 2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Blockchain technology is just one of many databases, however, what it does well will change the world. Where authenticity is important, and MRO and Aerospace are examples of that, blockchain will transform industries. Also, when combined with sensor-based logistics, it will create a secure chain of custody that is unparalleled today. In the spirit of ‘coopetition,’ it will take a village to build it, which is why blockchain is referred to as a ‘Team Sport.’
