Latest MRO Americas Update

June 11. 2020

Dear MRO Community Colleagues,

I hope this finds you, your family, friends, and colleagues doing well. It has been three+ months since the COVID-19 pandemic began. This has been an unprecedented time for all of us and none of us can lean on experience in dealing with anything of this measure.

We have been asked by many attendees and exhibitors about the MRO Americas Conference and Exhibition. I want to confirm we are confidently moving forward with a live event on September 1-3, 2020, in Dallas, TX at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The state of Texas is currently in phase 2 of its re-opening, and we are optimistic this momentum will continue to grow. Of course, we will be continuously monitoring the situation and following all federal and local guidance as it develops.

As members of the aviation industry we have faced adversity before.  Some of you were with us when we had a tornado touch down near the MRO event in 2012, and had to evacuate for impromptu networking in the basement; others flew around the world and back again to join us in 2014 when the Iceland volcano picked an inopportune time to explode.   We have rebuilt before and we will inevitably do it again, this is an industry of progress and growth and we aren’t stopping now!

The questions of “Is it safe to travel?” and “Is it safe to attend a tradeshow?” are valid and questions we should all be prepared to ask ourselves as we kickstart the industry. The MRO Americas team, along with the KBHCC, the city of Dallas, our general contractor Freeman, and our Informa Markets Team have developed multiple safety plans to keep our exhibitors and attendees safe.

MRO Americas will be organized in accordance with Informa’s AllSecure health and safety standard. As the world’s leading events’ organizer, Informa developed a detailed set of enhanced measures to provide the highest levels of hygiene and safety at its events, providing everyone with reassurance and confidence they are participating in a safe and controlled environment. We have planned for an optimally safe environment from the moment you check-in at registration to the closing of the show floor. A comprehensive plan can be found on our website at mroamericas.aviationweek.com/en/plan-your-visit/keeping-you-safe.html and of course, my team and I are always available to you should you have any further concerns.  We would not be moving forward with the live event if we didn’t feel that all of our partners, our MRO Americas team, and the city of Dallas were not actively planning for a safe experience for all of our customers come September.

Registration is open. It’s time to restart the industry and we plan on doing that in a productive, engaging and responsible way. If you have any questions about Informa AllSecure or any of the measures our partner venues and suppliers are taking to facilitate a safe environment, please don’t hesitate to visit our website at mroamericas.aviationweek.com or reach out to us at events@aviationweek.com. Also rest assured that should optimism for a September return to business diminish in any way, we will not move forward with the live event. Your safety and wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

Thank you all and I look forward to seeing you in Dallas on September 1, and celebrating 25 years of MRO Americas.. Stay safe and healthy,

Lydia Janow,
