As a major organizer of events and exhibitions, Aviation Week, a division of Informa, has the opportunity and responsibility to lead the sustainable development of our industry. Our attendees, exhibitors and colleagues are all clearly telling us that sustainability, socially, economically and environmentally, is something that is no longer a “nice to have” but a necessary part of our success.
We also have the potential to go further than our responsibility to deliver our events sustainably: we can design our events to provide a place to work in partnership with our customers and inspire the sustainable development of the industries we serve. Aviation Women Inspiring the Next Generation (A-WING) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to transform the future of aviation, space, and defense by advancing gender equality and unlocking the full potential of women across the industry.
We believe the sky should never be the limit—and yet, for too many women, barriers still exist. While the demand for skilled talent continues to rise globally, women remain underrepresented across nearly every sector, especially in leadership. A-WING exists to change that narrative.
We encourage, enable, and empower women of all ages to pursue meaningful, impactful careers in aerospace. From first inspiration to executive leadership, we are building a clear and supported pathway forward.
Through strategic networking, mentorship, and career development initiatives, A-WING connects women to real opportunities—scholarships, internships, mentorships, and career placement. Our events and programs bring together industry professionals, companies, and rising talent to foster relationships that lead to growth, advancement, and lasting change.
But our mission doesn’t stop there.
We are deeply committed to shaping the next generation. Through hands-on youth outreach, mentorship, and immersive experiences, we introduce young people to the possibilities within aviation, space, and defense. From classroom visits and career days to national events like EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, A-WING creates moments that spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire future leaders.
Founded by experienced aviation professionals, A-WING champions women in both traditional and non-traditional roles—spanning finance, leasing, manufacturing, MRO, supply chain, legal, product management, and beyond. Our leadership team—comprised of executives, entrepreneurs, and industry experts—is united by a shared commitment to creating a more inclusive, equitable, and opportunity-rich industry.
Together with our partners and supporters, we are building a global network that drives real change—advocating for fair pay, equitable benefits, and greater representation at every level.
This is more than a mission. It’s a movement.
And with your support, we can continue to open doors, elevate voices, and inspire the next generation of women to take their place in shaping the future of aerospace.
We are delighted to announce our Meetings Make Trees campaign at MRO Americas!
In partnership with our app provider ExpoPlatform and Ecologi, we are committed to planting 1 tree in the United States for each confirmed meeting made on the event app. Stay tuned to see how many trees we plant as a result of our attendee networking!
